Born and raised in northern Michigan, Dane Carey combined his love for his home state with an innate curiosity in law, finance, and business development. From his role as a partner at Carey Jaskowski, PLC to his invaluable contributions at The Brook Retirement Communities, Dane's work has always been characterized by an exceptional blend of expertise, strategic clarity, and pragmatic decision-making.

His legal practice primarily centers on intricate property disputes and real estate litigation, riparian rights and water law, business matters, and general civil litigation. He represents clients throughout the State of Michigan and in Federal Courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, affirming his extensive reach and professional acumen.

Beyond his legal practice, his roles at The Brook Retirement Communities provide the perfect stage for Dane's multidisciplinary prowess to shine. Here, he integrates regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance into his role as Legal Counsel. As Deputy Finance Director, he fortifies the company's financial position through planning, risk mitigation, and fiscal oversight. Lastly, as a Board Member, Dane stewards the company with prudence, applying his surface-wide knowledge to strengthen governance and long-term value creation.

In recognition of his stellar work and dedication, Dane was named a "Rising Star" in Michigan’s Super Lawyers publication over the past decade. An accolade bestowed upon the top 2.5 percent of Michigan lawyers, it exemplifies Dane's standing in the legal community. 

Dane obtained his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law, and an MBA, with honors, from Michigan State University, Eli Broad College of Business. His law journal article was cited in a U.S. Supreme Court brief and offered a novel application of U.S. Constitutional law, showcasing his talent for innovative thinking. 

Aside from his professional achievements, Dane also enjoys soccer and basketball and was an All-American Men's Soccer player during his time at Kalamazoo College.
